Avignon is just the beginning of our river cruise. October 30 & 31

Here is our full Rhone River Cruise itinerary.

October 30, we transfer by coach to MS Thomas Hardy moored in Avignon historic center. On day two, we have a guided tour of the history in Avignon. In the 14th century the Pope’s court moved from Rome to Avignon. This was Avignon’s brief golden age. We’ll see the Pope’s Palace - the largest Gothic palace in the world. Imagine yourself here during the Middle Ages, with extravagance of the Papal entourage while the masses await a benediction.
After lunch, we can explore further as a group or on your own crossing the Pont d’Avignon, see art by Botticelli, Carpaccio and more or do some shopping, a cooking class…to be discussed on our quarterly calls.
