Two years ago today, NPR’s Marketplace shared my story of becoming a solo nomad at 60+. I talked about selling everything, living on Social Security, my small nest egg, and setting out to see if I could create a life rich in experiences instead of things. I wasn’t sure where it would lead — only that I needed to try.

Just so we get it right – it is pronounced OO-SWAY-Ya and is in the Argentinian province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and the South Atlantic Islands. Just south of Ushuaia at Cape Horn the Pacific meets the Atlantic. Besides Antarctica – there is nothing further south.

Driving between housesits, I took my time from Newport Beach to Marin County. I love driving along the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), and avoided LA traffic! Winning!
